OPITO Lift Planning for Basic Lifting Operations in the Wind Industry - Initial Training
The aim of this course is to provide Learners with the theoretical and practical skills to plan and organise basic routine lifting operations. The programme includes methods and techniques that will instruct in the process and procedures that are essential in planning and management of lifting operations in the wind industry.
Description
Training Content
Learners attending this Initial Training course will be provided with explanation, demonstration and typical scenarios related to the on and offshore wind industry. Learners will be assessed against knowledge and practical outcomes, completing a theory test as well as writing lift plans and associated risk assessments. To successfully complete the outcomes delegates must be able to read and write in English.
Following successful completion of the Initial Training Programme the Learner will be issued with OPITO certification which has a two-yearly validity.
Target Audience
Those who are required to participate and/or assist in the planning of basic lifting operations in construction, operations, maintenance and decommissioning, using fixed or low-capacity equipment. Attendees should already have a basic awareness of lifting operations in the role of a lifting operative.
Certification
Upon successful course completion, the delegate will receive an OPITO certificate.
Revalidation
Two yearly intervals.
Prerequisites
A valid lifting operations training or competence qualification or certificate, issued by an industry-recognised awarding body, for example OPITO Banksman Slinger, OPITO Rigger, OPITO LOLER Competent Person, GWO Slinger Signaller, ECITB Moving Loads. Other certification is also accepted.
