Danny McMahon

Trainer/Assessor

Danny is based in Great Yarmouth and has worked in the oil and gas service industry for over 18 years specialising in bolting and nitrogen services. Danny made the move into training 2 years ago and is a ECITB qualified instructor / assessor delivering training predominately for MJI 10,18 & 19 and assessments for TMJI10, 11, 18, 19 & 20. In addition to this, Danny assists our customers to create bespoke leak testing training to suit their needs. Danny has recently completed his L&D9 SVQ level 8 assessors course.

Donald Robertson

Trainer/Assessor

Donald has been with Enermech Training Aberdeen since early 2023. He has been working as a Trainer/Assessor for 6 years and brings with him many years of experience in the lifting industry. Donald is part of our Lifting Operations Training team and delivers our ECITB APML, TAP-01, TML-03 courses as well as OPITO Rigging and Lifting,  Banksman Slinger,  LOLER Awareness,  LOLER Supervisor,  LCP,  Rigging Loft Management, and Inhouse courses.

Donald has worked in all sectors of Oil & Gas and Wind Energy and Construction Industry.

Ian Gainford

Trainer/Assessor

Ian has worked in training for 12 years and at our Aberdeen training centre for 5 years teaching and assessing across multiple skills including, bolt working, small bore tubing and leak testing both accredited by the ECITB and EnerMech driven courses either inhouse and/or client bespoke. As well as training delivery Ian helps design and write our training packages and materials.

Ian is experienced in multiple roles such as mechanical technician, mechanical supervisor, technical support engineer and project management. He is also an experienced and qualified HSEQT manager and operations director.

Ian has 26 years’ experience in heavy industry delivering specialist onsite engineering services working both on and offshore in the UK and overseas in the oil and gas, renewables, petrochemical, steel and aluminium production, civil engineering, and power generation industries.

Mark Wilson

Trainer/Assessor

Mark started working offshore in 2004 as a Roustabout and worked his way up to Crane Operator with Global SantaFE also working with a number of clients during his career including Transocean, Ensco and Northern Drilling in the Crane Operator role. Mark left the drilling sector in late 2008 to Join Petrofac as a Construction Crane Operator in the Irish Sea until Late 2010.

Mark joined EnerMech Training in Late 2010, initially in the position of Safety Coach / Lifting Advisor onboard a Dutch Accommodation vessel. He then undertook a Trainer/Assessor role in the Aberdeen Training Centre conducting Crane Assessments on our Crane Simulator. Mark then transferred to the flying squad to conduct training and assessments offshore in the UK and Overseas, working in Norway, Greece, UAE, USA, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Philippines. He spent 3 years on rotation in Abu Dhabi setting up our Crane Simulator there and conducting Crane Training and Assessments before returning to the Aberdeen Training Centre to take up the role as our full-time Crane Assessor.

Along the way Mark has achieved his Internal Verifier Qualification, and conducts internal auditing for a number of our clients.

Mark is a highly respected assessor and we frequently receive glowing feedback from his delegates. His mild manner and friendly approach allow him to put individuals at ease during a sometimes stressful experience.

Neil Burnett

Trainer/Assessor

Neil is a time served pipefitter with nearly 30 years industry experience. He has a vast and varied skill set skill, developed through on the job training, exposure to new technologies and working practices. Neil has extensive experience in pipefitting, fabrication and welding which was expanded with a move to the subsea industry which developed his small bore tubing manufacturing, inspection and testing capabilities. Neil has been a ECITB approved technical trainer in these subjects for over 6 years and joined EnerMech in early 2024.

 

Scott Smith

Course Delivery Lead

Scott had been with the Training Centre in Aberdeen for 8 years and has progressed from a Trainer/Assessor role to the Course Delivery Lead and supervisor of our Trainer/Assessor team. Scott also continues to deliver ECITB MJI 10, 18 & 19 along with conducting TMJI 10,11,18,19 & 20, TSBT 01,02 & 03 Technical Assessments, EnerMech Internal Courses, Internal & Global Verifications and assists with bespoke training programmes for our clients. 

Scott has worked across a range of different sectors over the past 25 years including Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Engineering Construction, Power Generation, Process, Oil & Energy conducting Engineering Services, HSEQT Consultation, Supervision & Management, Instructional Training Delivery, Examination and Verification roles. This gives him a brought knowledge of various sectors and makes his input to course creation and delivery invaluable.
