BFPA Accumulator Safety Training Level 2 (Dismantle & Rebuild)
The aim of this course is to provide learners with a knowledge and understanding of the operation of hydro-pneumatic accumulators. The course will cover theoretical principles and basic practical application including dismantle and rebuild.

Training Content
- Basic Principles including properties of Air & Nitrogen
- Accumulator Types, Operating Principles and Safety:
- Bladder
- Diaphragm
- Piston
- Energy Storage
- Pulsation Dampeners
- Shock Absorbers
- Operating Principles:
- Relevant Legislation and Control of Work
- Component Inspection Theory and Practical
- Nitrogen Pre-charging Equipment including Gas Boosters
- Failure Analysis
- Safety Valves & Monitoring Equipment
- Theory Test Session
Practical Session:
- Collect information prior to undertaking practical activity
- Safely isolate accumulator from connected circuit
- Identify unserviceable components/equipment
- Carry out procedures to confirm accumulator is safe prior to dismantling.
- Dismantle a bladder type accumulator using correct procedures
- Complete an inspection of accumulator components
- Rebuild accumulator in accordance with procedures
- Identify appropriate nitrogen charging equipment and correctly assemble
- Carry out initial charging, followed by a full pre-charge to a specified pressure.
Target Audience
This training programme has been developed to meet the needs of those involved in the Servicing, Maintenance and Management of Hydraulic Systems as well as Mechanical Apprentices, Technicians, Technical Representatives and Project Engineers.

Certification
Upon successful course completion, the delegate will receive a BFPA Certificate and Training Card.
