This part-day course is designed to impart the knowledge to change wheels correctly, be fully aware of all safety aspects, maintenance and general operational requirements

Introduction
The most common accidents involving abrasive wheels are those caused when wheels BURST through:
- Incorrect wheel selection
- Incorrect wheel mounting
- Incorrect speed
Other areas of danger are:
- Inadequate eye protection
- Skin abrasions
- Operating without regulation wheel guards
Course Content
- Regulations
- Hazard – wheel bursting – eye injuries – skin abrasions
- Safety precautions – employees duties – work site safety
- Correct mounting of abrasive wheels
- Marking abrasive wheels for correct speed
- Storing/handling/transportation
- Truing and dressing
- New wheels
- Pre-use check list
Target Audience:
This course is intended for workshop personnel who have had little formal safety training with respect to abrasive wheels. It is also available to experienced workshop personnel whose abrasive wheels training may require up-dating to current Regulations.
Certification
Upon successful course completion, the delegate will receive an EnerMech certificate.
