LOLER Competent Person
The LOLER Competent Person plans or approves all lifting operations in the workplace and ensures lifting operations comply with LOLER regulations and company procedures. The course provides an assessment of the LOLER Competent Person’s competence.

Training Content
This course consists of both theory test papers and practical assessments. The candidates will be expected to demonstrate competence in the following areas:
- LOLER, PUWER and HASAWA regulations
- Safe systems of work
- Assessment of personnel
- Management of personnel
- The inspection of lifting equipment and the concept of discard criteria
- Safe use of lifting equipment
- The management of rigging lofts
- The planning of lifting operations
- Risk assessment
Target Audience:
Personnel appointed as an organisation’s LOLER Competent Person.
Certification
Upon successful course completion, the delegate will receive an EnerMech certificate.
Revalidation
Two yearly intervals.
Prerequisites
There are no pre-requisites for this Assessment, however candidates are expected to have some level of experience in lifting operations.
