ECITB TAP01 Technical Test
The TAP 01 is for any personnel who require immediate proof of highly job-specific skills and knowledge tested against specific criteria for personnel overseeing, planning or managing load lifting and moving operations
Description
The TAP 01 is designed to ensure a candidate has the skills, knowledge and ability to generate clear and concise lift plans, risk assessments and toolbox talks necessary to support a complex rigging operation in accordance with recognised industry regulations and procedures.
The candidate would complete an online question bank with an 80% pass required followed by practical elements
The complicated construct lift for this test will simulate the following conditions;
• Confined space with restricted headroom.
• Lifting over simulated unprotected plant or equipment.
• Cross hauling.
The candidate must:
- Generate a lift plan for the specific rigging task.
- Generate a risk assessment against the specific rigging task.
- Generate a tool box talk for the specific rigging task.

Prerequisites
The pre-requisites for ECITB Technical Tests are dependent on whether the individual is classed as a “New Worker” an “Experienced Worker” or a "Private Individual" as defined below
New Worker
An individual who has had no previous industry relevant certification or experience but has attended the relevant ECITB Training Course and was issued with a Work Based Task Assignment (logbook).
Attendance on a Technical Test can commence no sooner than 12 weeks to a maximum of 12 months from course attendance. The ‘New Worker’ shall need to produce their ECITB training course certificate along with a fully completed and signed work based task assignment (logbook)

Experienced Worker
An individual who may not have a relevant ECITB training certificate but has relevant industrial background in the discipline, typically from an apprenticeship route in the engineering construction industry, with verifiable relevant and sustained recent experience in relevant discipline activities. A minimum of 3 years sustained relevant discipline experience is required.

Private individual
A private individual is not part of an employer’s core crew or currently employed but has relevant industrial background in the discipline, typically from an apprenticeship route in the engineering construction industry, with verifiable relevant and sustained recent experience in relevant discipline activities. A minimum of 3 years sustained relevant discipline experience is required.

Note: Experienced Workers or Private Individuals who have attended the relevant training course(s) as “refresher training” must wait a minimum period of 2 weeks after course completion before being granted access to the relevant technical test.
